Duplex apartments are thinner on the ground in Torremolinos than along the newer west coast, because so much of the town was built upward in the tower era rather than out in low-rise communities. Where they do appear — the upper floors of the larger Playamar blocks, and the more recent in-fill builds around Montemar and the Bajondillo edges — they give you house-like volume and often a private roof terrace over the rooftops, while keeping the lock-and-leave convenience of a flat. For the price, they remain one of the better-value shapes in the town.
