In Torremolinos a penthouse usually means the top floor of one of the 1970s seafront towers in Playamar — and the gap between a refurbished one and an original one is enormous. Several of those towers have been through full façade, lobby and plumbing renovation programmes, and a top-floor flat in a renovated block, with its wide railing-ringed terrace facing the open Mediterranean, is a different proposition from the same floor in a building still waiting its turn. The portals price them as if they were the same. They are not, and we will tell you which is which before you climb the stairs.
